"Editing to the Beat" Practice Film

The main focus of this production was to edit a video in time to a beat. so we chose "Music To Watch Girls By" by Andy Williams, this resulted in us creating a series of montage shots during the opening instrumental that we believe are in time with the beat of the song especially the build up of the different layers of instruments, for example we start with guitar riffs which build into trumpet blasts, which we believe mirrored the montage shots of men getting ready to go out. This led into a series of lip-syncing shots that we found were edited in well and most importantly went well with the beat and rhythm of the song. lastly we went again into a series of montage shots of men dancing in a typical 60's fashion as that were to mirror the 60's era song but also allowed us to experiment with editing in time to a beat. Overall this production has given us a understanding of editing to a beat and naturally this will be beneficial to our main production.
